MEMBERSHIP INFO

Welcome to Rainbow Saddle Club!  Hope this informational letter helps with some questions you may have.

Meetings are held the first Monday of every month from Nov.-April at the Greenvale Township Hall.  Summer meetings are held at the saddle club grounds, the day of the week is subject to change, so read your newsletter for the correct date.  Please provide a current working e-mail address if you would like to receive your monthly newsletters that way, otherwise they will be mailed at your request.

Your membership entitles you to ride at the arena whenever you would like, make sure the gates are all secure when leaving and all equipment is put away.  Remember, leisurely riding is for members only and not for use by trainers receiving payment for lessons or training horses.  Please don’t leave young children unsupervised at the arena.  Good sportsmanship is encouraged at all saddle club events.

The club hosts a variety of shows including Fun shows (some may be “closed” for members only) & our annual WSCA Defeat of Jesse James Days show held in September, the weekend after Labor Day.  Please ask about the Awards Program, nomination forms must be completed for each horse & rider with a minimal fee to participate in year end awards.

Our club rides in the Defeat of Jesse James Days Parade in September.  Permission forms must be signed by all members who participate and turned into the parade coordinator each year.  Proper show attire is required for riding in the parade, remember we are on display and will leave a memorable impression.  Horses and tack must be clean and horses must have a current Coggins test, according to MN State Law.

At the end of the show season a club banquet is held, all members are welcome to attend.  Points are earned by placing in individual classes and accumulate through out the show season, (if you completed & turned in the nomination form).  Each family/member is expected to donate work hours for the success of the horse shows held…without volunteers the shows could not take place. A show boss will be assigned for each show, check with them on ways you can help.

All members are expected to help with keeping our grounds clean and show ready.  There will be scheduled “clean up” days in preparation for upcoming shows, those will be announced at the meetings and placed in the monthly newsletter if time allows.

WSCA (Western Saddle Club Association) rules apply at our shows.
WSCA hosts the championship show in the fall, to qualify you must have placed first or second in your class. You must be a current member of a WSCA club before June 30 of each year. The sign up forms for the champ show are in their magazine (Spotlight) or you can go online.  Each club has a representative, ask them about purchasing a rule book.

There is NO camping on the Rainbow Saddle Club grounds; our permit does not allow it.

Volunteering is the best way to become involved and meet new people; we hope this is something you will consider!

Please feel free to ask questions.  There are several knowledgeable members and we are all still learning!  Hope your experience is enjoyable.

Happy Riding!!!
